I bet they pronounced it "con-TRO-versy" instead of "CON-trov-ersy" too - that really irritates me for some reason!

The correct pronunciation is con-tro-VER-sy, as any fule kno.

I'd say "con-TROV-ersy." Not sure why I put the emphasis on the first syllable when I first commented...
